Manchester Township is located in Ocean County, New Jersey. It is best known for being the site of the 1937, Hindenburg disaster. Today, a memorial and the Lakehurst Naval Air Station resides in the place the disaster happened. Lakehurst Naval Station is a military airport that prides itself in being the worlds only provider of full spectrum support for aircraft launch. The Lakehurst Historical Society Museum is located in Old Saint John's Church, and contains a deep wealth of history about Manchester Township and the Hindenburg. The community celebrates Manchester Day in June, often with an annual festival. One of the newest communities, Del Webb, is located in a “retirement haven” area, here guests enjoy golf, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, a fitness center, computer lab and library.
