Point Pleasant is a borough in Ocean County, New Jersey. A popular tourist destination, Point Pleasant offers a variety of public and private beaches. Some of the more popular activities include surfing “the Pocket”, fishing, boating, and scuba diving. Point Pleasant is distinct from Point Pleasant Beach, which is a separate community.
Point Pleasant is abutted at the north by the Manasquan River, the west by Brick Township, the south by the Beaver Dam Creek and to the east by Point Pleasant Beach, and Bay Head.
There is a terrific selection of local businesses on the boardwalk that offer everything from spa's, to restaurants, to recreation, and shopping. Another popular destination on the boardwalk is the Jenkinson's Aquarium. The aquarium opened in 1991, and has since been a spot of recreation and education for the public.
Point Pleasant is one of the most popular places to live at the Jersey Shore. It is also a popular location for vacation homes and for real estate investments.
Located at the norther end of the Barnegat Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway, Point Pleasant is a haven for water recreation and water sports. You will discover the waterways are inhabited by sail and power boats, port fishing boats and personal watercarft. Point Pleasant Borough hosts many special events over the course of the year.
